Kinga Janiszewski is a double bassist with a passion for chamber music and unique concert experiences. Originally from Australia, she brings a dynamic and reflective voice to both traditional and contemporary repertoire and is always looking for new ways to create genuine connections through music.

She began her university education at the Australian National University with Max McBride. She then continued her studies at the Australian National Academy of Music with Damien Eckersley and completed a master's degree in Austria at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz with Timothy Dunin.

As an orchestral musician, she has played with renowned orchestras such as the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Vienna Volksoper, the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Highlights of her career to date include a tour of Korea with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra (2023), Messiaen's Turangalîla Symphony with the Australian World Orchestra (2017) and performances at the Huntington Estate Chamber Music Festival (2015). She has also performed at the Vienna State Opera and participated in soundtrack recordings and world premieres.

Her current focus is on breaking new ground in the chamber music scene in Vienna and beyond, with concert series that combine bold repertoire ideas with intimate, personal musical experiences. With curiosity, openness and a collaborative spirit, she aims to take the double bass to unexpected places and push the boundaries of the classical concert format.
